SIN Studio Gallery combines technology and fine art. They offer exclusive collaboration based on their globally unique technology. They assist artists in transforming their current work or creating brand-new artworks.

Invented by Jiří Šín, the unique technology is based on a groundbreaking method of cast glass production. It employs the revolutionary process of pouring hot glass into a closed mold enabling the creation of a faithful cast of any object.

This is an essential shift in the field of cast glass sculpture, perfected and promoted by Professor Stanislav Libenský in the early days. The new technology invented by Jiří Šín takes the craft of glassmaking to the next level, making it possible to create three-dimensional glass sculptures with a realistic structure yet without any limitations in size and shape for the first time in history.

The bowl is made of burnt pieces of wood. Its glass casting contains
a burning substance that shines mysteriously through the glass structure. Due to the distinctive complex structure and color, the light only partially passes through the object, thus preserving an air of mystery.

Rony Plesl

Rony Plesl (1965) is a leading Czech artist, sculptor, designer and professor who has garnered international acclaim in the field of glass sculpture. His unique oeuvre emerges from his deep knowledge of quality glassmaking and the technologies used in his original designs and artworks. The sense of detail and precision grinding, trademarks of the Czech glassmaking school, are paramount in Plesl’s work, yet they never overpower the conceptual ideas behind his art. The monumentality of his sculpture is enhanced by the use of a globally unique glass-casting technology. He takes yet another step towards the emancipation of the medium of glass sculpture, towards a unique definition of how far the limits of contemporary art can be pushed. Since 2008, Rony Plesl has been Head of the Studio of Glass at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. In 2017, he was appointed Professor of Design and Architecture.

Plesl’s artworks are represented in public and private collections in the Czech Republic and internationally. He received multiple awards for his work: Good Design Award (2019, 2013, 2010), Red Dot Award (2019, 2007), Czech Grand Design (2011) and others.

The sculpture is a third piece from the formally sumptuous project of opulent or open forms. Works from this project do not leave the spectators and surrounding space at ease, demanding attention and forcing touch. They are mostly vibrant organic forms with colorful polychromy.

Jan Kovářík

Jan Kovářík (1980) is a Czech sculptor, a graduate of the Sculpture Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Due to his background in ceramics, his perception of color and mass has formed since childhood. His artworks typically feature biomorphic objects based on the psychological effect of color and shape. He focuses on closed and open forms, objects shaped like mattresses and clouds, deformed objects and large-scale, formally rich installations made of combined materials. He won several competitions for the realization of sculptures in public spaces. His best-known realizations include the Maria Theresa memorial at the Powder Bridge in Prague (2020) and the Roubíček family tombstone at the New Jewish Cemetery in Prague (2021). In 2023, he created the monumental site-specific intervention Concentration at the St. Salvator Church in Prague.
