Jan Heres: A Fusion of Cultures and Emotions on Canvas
Jan Heres (b. 1992) is a Swiss-born, Prague-based artist whose work blends vibrant color, cultural influences, and emotional storytelling. Shaped by his studies in Prague and international experiences in Indonesia, Spain, and Taiwan, his paintings explore human relationships, mythology, and the interaction between people and their surroundings. Inspired by Paul Gauguin and Hieronymus Bosch, his latest series merges European artistic traditions with Asian mythology, depicting figures like the goddess Mazu and the sacred Kirin in striking, unconventional compositions.
