Sára Skoczková – GIRL SCULPTURE NOW!
LinSára Skoczková is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she studied in the sculpture studio of Tomáš Hlavina. At the exhibition of AVU graduates, she attracted attention with her impressive sculptural installation. This young artist, originally from Havířov, speaks to the audience in a poetic sculptural language, the center of inspiration of which is found in organic morphology. Her monumental sculptures appear graceful, weighty and fragile at the same time. Inspiration from nature can be read from the materials used, such as wax and concrete, as well as from the muted color of her objects, moving on a scale of white, gray and earthy tones.

Tower
gypsum,150 cm, 2019
The tower is composed of several fragments and as a whole, it resembles a spine. It's a paraphrase of life; it stands somewhat fragile, but when it falls, it can be reassembled and continue standing.
Amphora
concrete, 130 x 90, 110 x 110, 2019
A container intended for the storage of thoughts.
The standing amphora conceals an empty, silent space intended for storage. Meditatively, I can observe the depth it hides and place my thoughts within it. Allowing myself to be engulfed by the inner space.
The lying amphora reveals its inner space, which is often concealed. It resembles a burrow, den, or hideout.
Communication tunnel
gypsum, iron, wax, 2018
The communication tunnel creates an illusion of space. The material surrounds an inner, empty, layered space, resembling a sort of stand for observing the unseen. During the process, the wax core was melted away, leaving only its imprint.
BUDS
iron, concrete, 2023
The plant is a symbol of life, growth, and cycles. The starkness of the plastic, its fragility, and dryness are its opposite. Inside the large bud, a smaller fruit is hidden, which is part of its life cycle. The lying bud has fallen off and is slowly decaying.
JEAN
gypsum, 175cm, 2019
Sculpture modelated from a live model. Jean is a young man, I focused on the feeling he evokes. He radiates peace and goodness, meditates, hums to himself.
DOGGIE
concrete, 2021
Silent companion. I can feel his lovely presence.
