Sculptural Dialogues: Ema Kissová & Kateřina Šťastná

Ema Kissová (2003)

Ema Kissová has been passionate about sculpture since childhood, when she played with stones. For her, stone is not just a medium, but an active partner in shaping the sculpture—a living organism that defines the form and meaning of the work. Her artistic poetics touch on the profound themes of birth, death, and transformation, and her objects function primarily haptically, inviting touch and perception with all the senses. The delicate, organically flowing shapes she creates are carriers of intense feelings and allow viewers to enter into a dialogue with the material and their own bodies.

Kateřina Šťastná (1996)

Kateřina Šťastná is a talented sculptor whose work straddles the boundary between classical sculpture and textile techniques. After studying photography, she found her artistic language in figurative objects, which she materializes into more abstract, fluid forms centered around the theme of breath and the body. A distinctive feature of her work are also textile paintings with delicate embroidery made of glass beads, which have a meditative effect and visually and instrumentally complement the space around the sculptures. Her work blends personal experiences and observations that open up a deeper perception of the relationship between the body, space, and inner time.
