The golden letters with the name Genesis appear and disappear in turbulent waters, just like when you throw a piece of jewelry into the sea. or like fragments of memories of childhood, youth or first love disappear and reappear. The lids evoke pieces of wood washed ashore by the sea. The very items you casually pick up on a walk and put in your pocket. When you find them again, they will remind you of the atmosphere of the place where you lifted them from the ground. Tereza Štětinová goes on to say: „The bottle should be like a memory. Pleasant in the hands, as if you were holding something fragile but full of feeling. A rare gift, a souvenir, a magical item.“
ANDAZ PRAGUE ˜ PIGMENTARIUM
GENESIS
What does Andaz Prague smell like? For example, with rosewood, verbena, lily of the valley or musk... Paradise and the original sin – that's how the creators of the Pigmentarium perfume house describe the Genesis scent. The atmosphere of the hotel is now inextricably linked with it.
There is an interesting story behind everything. This partnership was born out of another collaboration. Pigmentárium presented its latest creation – Genesis perfume – as part of the opening of a series of thirteen sculptures by Tereza Štětinová in Paris in May this year. The Paris presentation was followed by the Prague one. The Andaz hotel became its venue.
On the Waves of Virginia Woolf
The fragrance originally had no name. It was created as a private perfume specifically for the artist Tereza Štetinová, with whom the Czech perfume house Pigmentarium has been successfully cooperating for the past few years. Perfumer Jakub Hierman, the author of the fragrance, says: "I was given the task of creating a delicate and refreshing scent with the character of summer, but without citrus. Tereza also wanted it to capture her memories of growing up, a summer morning in the depths of a green garden full of dew and dreaming, influenced by reading the novel Waves by Virgina Woolf.
Only later, after an agreement with the artist, it was decided, that the perfume would become a Pigmentarium staple. Together with Teresa, the name Genesis was chosen, which perfectly reflects the idea of the fragrance.
Presentation at Adina's
The Prague presentation of the perfume took place this May. The Andaz Hotel organized it in Adina Mandlová's suite. Everyone perceived the special connection of the extraordinary environment and the luxurious aroma. It was thanks to this strong impression that an agreement was made that the Genesis perfume would become characteristic for selected common areas of the hotel and that they would be scented with the help of diffusers. Many guests ask about the scent and its story has a strong impact on them.
Exclusive collection for Andaz Prague
Also due to the interest of the guests, an exclusive collection of artistic flacons and boxes of the Genesis perfume was created, the author of which is again Tereza Štětinová. "Every bottle and every cap is a handmade original. The bottle is meant to be a memory. Pleasant in the hands, as if you were holding something fragile but full of feeling. A rare gift, a souvenir, a magical object...," says the artist. The bottle is expressively painted by Tereza personally, with glass paints. Renowned glassmaker Jan Janecký, who is not only a phenomenal glass decorator collaborating with the Moser brand, but also a great technologist, participated in the technology.
The limited artistic collection of the Genesis perfume is intended exclusively for the hotel's clients. They can take it home as a perfect gift or souvenir that is connected to Czech art, Prague and the hotel itself.
The price of a flacon of the perfume is 3960 CZK/166 EUR.
